About Billy Vigor

I would firstly like to introduce myself. My name is Billy Vigor and I have been a professional instructor for the past 30 years. Martial Arts and fitness are not my hobby or past time, it has been my lifestyle for the past 30 years.

I first started training in the noble art of boxing at the age of 7 years old. I carried on with the boxing and also started to train in Judo and Karate closely followed by Tae-Kwon-Do and Kickboxing. At this very young age I began to love the discipline and fighting spirit taught in traditional martial arts and contact sports. I was lucky enough to hear about a instructor that was teaching Tae-Kwon-Do that instructor was Mr Yue Kee Yong I started training with Mr Yong in Tae-Kwon-Do. I also trained with his friend Mr Teh in Tang So Do, another Korean Martial Art. After a while I had to choose Tae-Kwon-Do or Tang So Do. It was a easy decision to make as I stayed with Mr Yong as I liked his hard traditional way of teaching. That was over 40 years ago and Mr Yong is still my instructor sensei 40 years on!

After many years of hard training I was awarded my black belt and my instructors diploma to teach. This was awarded by Grand Master K.H.Rhee 9th Dan and a grading panel of Korean Tae-Kwon-Do masters. Ironically I had to go back to my place of birth to take this grading in Glasgow, Scotland. I then started my own Tae-Kwon-Do school under the guidance of Mr Yue Kee Yong and K.H.Rhee for the U.K.T.A., the first Tae-Kwon-Do style to ever be taught in the UK. Once my students were ready to grade Master Rhee would come to Hemel Hempstead to conduct and grade my students.

I have trained in many different forms of self defence, traveling to different parts of the UK and world to study in these martial arts. These include Tae-Kwon-Do and Kickboxing in America, Thai-Boxing in Thailand, Kung-Fu in Las Vegas, Tae-Kwon-Do in Singapore and Judo and Karate in Spain.

Open 7 days a week, 7am to 9pm. A full time private fitness studio covering Leighton Buzzard, Hemel Hempstead and surrounding area.
